Chinese Lunar New Year


Chinese New Year, also known as the Spring Festival or the Lunar New Year and is celebrated across the globe.

What are the traditions that you will do during the celebration?

1. Giving out the red envelope:

They are called "hongbao" in Mandarin.

Chinese people loves the colour red and red is symbols of happiness and luckyness.

When family members who receive a red envelope are wished another safe and peaceful year.

2. Family reunion:

Every Chinese New Year, it’s a special occasion for family members to sit down and share the greatest memories of entire year. It’s very similar to Westerners Thanksgivings or Christmas Eve! It is often considered the most important get-together meal of the entire year.

3. Firecrackers and Fireworks at Midnight

Firecrackers made out of bright shiny paper are often used as decorations to add to the lively atmosphere of the festivities. In Chinese traditions, lighting up the firecrackers has been a greatest traditions since early Chinese new year celebration.
