大正時代，竈門炭治郎(男主角)繼承亡父留下的炭業工作，在山上過著樸實的生活。某天他做完生意回家後，發現全家遭鬼王鬼無慘(大反派)屠殺，而妹妹禰豆子變成了鬼。炭治郎因此踏上了尋求讓妹妹復原的方法，經過兩年訓練，學會對抗鬼的呼吸法與劍術，通過考驗加入鬼殺隊。
In Taisho-era Japan, Tanjiro Kamado is a kindhearted boy who makes a living selling charcoal. However, his peaceful life is shattered when a Demon slaughters his entire family.
